 The Loren Highway Battles

While tumultuous events were occurring in north west Tilea, in the east other forces were moving. What follows is an account gathered from various sources over several months.


One of the main routes of trade connecting the Empire to southern Bretonnia and Northern Tilea is the Loren highway, a long dangerous road that runs between the forest and the mountains. The most dangerous part of this road is the Mondidlier pass which runs just south of the wild woods, perhaps the most dangerous part of Athel Loren.

It was along this pass a large body of dwarfs from Kazad Elgazund set out in the autumn of 2491. The small band of greenskins that were lurking in the area were soon driven off and (foolishly) fled into the woods. It was here that they encountered the forest spirits and their elf allies. What transpired is unknown to mortal men, but the orcs and goblins did not return, save for 1 chariot which was reported on the road some 3 day later.

Thus the agitated forest folk attacked the dwarfs as they marched down the road. The dwarfs were mostly made up of clansmen from Kazad Elgazund, and they quickly deployed into a line across a small open space with an old building in the centre. The forest seemed to come alive as vast tree beings attacked the dwarves.

According to the dwarfs, the forest pressed their lines hard but during the fight one of the larger trees took fright from the axes and fled. The tree was brought down by the pursuing dwarfs. With this, the rest of the tree people began to withdraw, leaving the dwarves in control of the field. There were a number of dead and wounded but the victory belonged to the dwarfs.


With the treeman fallen, the wood elves pull back.

Though an unusual occurrence, this small event belied the larger conflagration which was yet to occur.

 The battle of Patrizzi On the 32 nd day of the 7 th month of 2492 by the imperial calender, along the coast of North Tilea, “The Grand Raid from the Sea” or “ Il Mare Cattivo” as the Viadasans still call it, began . Norse long boats were seen beached along the beaches north of Viadaza and the ogre mercenaries in the city's employ were sent out to meet them. Norse raiders that far south were rare, but not unheard of at the time, and any hopes that they could be paid off were dashed when they started raiding villages. Like many other cities in the north of Tilea, Viadaza had been overrun by vampires at the beginning of the century. The Battle of Petrizzi Part 2

 The battle of Petrizzi part 2. The archers on the hill again fired into the Khorne warriors while Calarion, realising the dangers of his situation, turned and ran down the hill towards the ogre leadbelchers. The twins, Big Makh and Kortor Pounder, charged into the rallied marauders and Gamygyn again rather than the ranks of magically armoured chaos warriors. The dwarves tried to join the great combat that was about to start in the centre between the generals of both ogre forces, but the lacked the leg power and pulled up short. The giant stopped running and turned to face the chaos forces. Elesando Contti, who had been leading the small group of knights, left them to chase a group of warhounds that had broken though one of the gangs of the goblins the followed the ogres.
